The Count of Monte Cristo

We all know it: the movie version of The Count of Monte Cristo was just crying out for slash. I mean, really, Guy Pearce. Fernand is creepy -- really creepy -- and Rispa's Covet does him full justice. It's not pretty or romantic, but it's believeable, and it almost makes me like Edmond, or at least feel sorry for him. He would stop what he was doing if Fernand continued with his disapproval, and for the barest moment Fernand considered it, ruining his friend's enjoyment of the day simply to revel in his power to do so.
