My name is Sunshine. I am the younger "sister" of Pooh Bear (See Memorial Page )#4. I used Rimadyl several times and had no adverse effects, but since Pooh Bear may have died because of Rimadyl, I no longer use the product. I am so lucky that my Mom stopped using Rimadyl before it was too late.
I was adopted at the age of 18 months in February, 1992 at the Houston SPCA. I was really traumatized by the experience of being at the SPCA. It was a scary place. Lucky for me I was only there a week. I was always an outside dog and was not housetrained when I went home with Anita. Although I spend most of my time indoors, I escaped out of the back yard after only being at Anita's place for a week. Lucky for me, I had proper identification and was returned home unharmed.
I was a really rambunctious pup when I was younger, so my nickname was "The Terminator", or "The Bruiser" or "The Horse". But now that I have settled down, I am a "perfect" dog.
When I was adopted , I went home and met Pooh Bear for the first time. Pooh did not like having a new dog in the house. Pooh was a pampered dog, and the only dog, so she did not greet me very warmly. After a few months, Pooh figured out that I was there to stay, and she got to the point that we were inseparable. Pooh still let me know who the boss was, but it was nice to know that we were pals who went everywhere together.
I have been to Virginia, West Virginia and Texas for visits with family and friends. I go with Anita everywhere...to the grocery, to get gasoline. I am the top dog now, and I really enjoy it.
I really miss Pooh Bear. I bark at night (I never used to when Pooh was there to keep me company). But I like being top dog and getting all the treats and attention. I guess Pooh had her time as an "only dog" and now it is my turn.
